Default Thinking of Purchasing 2000 A4

I am thinking of purchasing a 2000 A4 2.8 Quattro with 100,000 miles.

I was wondering what major mechanical issue these vehicle are known to have?

Also with 100,000 miles what parts of the vehicle should I be looking at to help ensure I am still getting a vehicle that will last hopefully another 75,000?

Fist, if you tinking about upgrading the car for performance, I will look for a 1.8T instead of a 2.8

I don't know much about the 2.8 maintenance but mine is a 1.8t and trust me, you must love your car really bad because those b5 are money pit. The only thing that keep me going on is that I love this car all together ... performance is ok once you put the right mods, love the luxury aspect, like the look and finally, I became a quattro addict... can't live without

So if you think of buying this car, be prepare to put lots of money in maintenance if you want it to last ... but if you do, you will enjoy your ride
