Default Thinking of purchasing '02 A4 -- what should I look for?

Hi everyone, Just found this forum and thought I'd hopefully get the inside scoop from people who are in the know. I'm currently looking at purchasing an '02 or '03 Audi A4 with quattro (preferably a wagon) for the mrs., wanting to get her into a bigger and safer car than her current miata. I'm going to go check out an '02 A4 1.8T quattro sedan from a local used car dealer. The car has only 13,000 miles on it, which is what caught my attention despite the fact that it's a sedan rather than a wagon. Is there anything in particular that I should look for when I go check out the car and take it for a test drive? My understanding is that these cars are prone to electrical problems (according to Consumer Reports), but I doubt I would be able to figure that out. I'm just wondering if there are things I should know about before seriously considering purchasing this car. Thanks for your help!

thanks panda. hmm, i'll have to ask about the recalls. i understand there was a recall for defective ignition coils (did that apply to all 2002 A4's with the 1.8T engine?), but i'm not familiar with the other recalls that affect this model??? I believe this is just a used car lot that I'd be buying from. have you had any significant problems with your car? would you recommend this as a used car?

my goodness that's a long list of recalls! The car is under warranty for another 12 months, so hopefully that will provide sufficient time to correct any lurking gremlins on the car. at the same time, i know the wife wouldn't have much patience to deal with the car in the shop all the time, so i'll have to think about this one some more. btw, the car has tiptronic, sport and premium packages, etc. and is selling for about 20.5k. seems like a somewhat reasonable deal, depending on how good of a condition the car is in.

it's a quattro. the price seems to line up somewhere between the private party prices listed at kbb and edmunds.com.
