Question which of the three should i get first?

im debating between tires and wheels, suspension kit, or vag-com. id plan to buy the pro kit of vag-com which is almost 600. the suspension kit is about 800. and the tires and wheels are a lil over 900 out the door. i dont plan any hp mods yet, im trying to get the thing to corner like its on rails before any of that. so what would you guys do first?

I'd go with suspension. just cuz it wont look as good if u get wheels first and cuz i wouldnt spend 600 on vag com

I haven't done it but I think many people have managed to get "free" copies of VAG-com. I already had the full version from work before I ever thought of getting an Audi though lol. I would do suspension first as w/e rims you choose will not look half as good as they will w/ good suspension.

the "free" version is ok to try it out and do some little things, but theres really no way to tune your car without the full version. and last time i looked it was about $250 not 600 unless you buy the one that supports every single car made up until 2009, certainly not needed if all you have is a B5. i would go for the suspension as well... i found a set of coilovers for a 1.8t quattro on hartford.craigslist.com the other day for 700 bucks. thats a pretty good deal, see if the guy is willing to ship.

it doesn't cost 600 for vag com? where do you get that info lol. just get ab ebay cable and dl the software for diagnostics. also you can dl lemmiwinks to tune the 1.8. the way i see it is, you can have the nicest car out there but if it doesn't run properly, it doesn't rly matter lol

well since you want to "corner like its on rails", I'm pretty sure you know that vag-com nor tires and wheels are going to help as much as suspension.

i looked at the vag com straight through ross tech. the vag com will need to do not only my car but also a good friend in my home town has a rs4 03 i think the year was. i would like to get the car to handle good in the future or now but i think hiwords has swayed me, he's right bout having the nicest car but it wont matter much if it doesnt run properly. mayb in the summer when work is less busy (no more 84hr work weeks) i can buy the suspension and install it then.

+1 for suspension

Suspension will improve handling and looks.
