im getting pretty excited to install all of this but i still need quite a few parts. im hoping by summer ill get it all in. if anyone is wondering its a gt2871r turbo. im debating on which tune to go with. i was set on the uni 630cc file but im kinda thinking maestro now for possible future upgrades. i just bought a broken laptop off a buddy so after i fix that it would work great for a dedicated car computer.

Been following your thread on the zine, looks like a good start! What are you gonna do about the random hole in the test pipe?

not sure what ill do with that. ill probably put an af guage in the lower bung but ill probably weld that hole up. im continuing to get a few things slowly like i had to cut some exhaust studs up for the manifold and im using stainless nuts to hold the turbo onto those studs. i think im gonna order some smaller stuff like gaskets and a fuel guage next week. i got a job so more money equals more part equals getting this thing done in a couple months hopefully

There's a much longer and more complete version of this thread on audizine. Tons of info in there about Maestro tuning and AFR and good **** like that.

**** this 1.8t and 2871r ****. going 2 liter/holset wh1c (about the same as hx35)
i bought two motors yesterday, a 2.0 aeg for the 92.8mm crank, and a awv 1.8t for the 06a 1.8 block, both motors out of new beetles for the staggering preice of $400. should easily recoup my investment by selling the leftovers.
comparison of the k03 to the wh1c holset

not sure if anyone here is interested but im getting going on the 2 liter build. i bought a new turbine wheel and rebild kit for the holset. i havent purchased any parts for the block yet, but that will come in time. im going to go cp pistons and brute rods i think. i want to get the lower end built by the end of the year and focus on the rest of it after. and o yeah, i picked up s4 interior for $50. since my car is 01, the door cards are the same so i only want to put the seats in, which will be recovered. anyone interested in me documenting the motor build this time?
