Default Timing belt warning?

Are there any real warning signs of a timing belt about to go? I've noticed some new noises inside the engine bay. One is a tick which I'm pretty sure is a lifter. The others are hard to describe so I'll try to get a video up soon.

you cant tell when its going to go until its happening

and its usually a tensioner that fails not the belt it will squeal and squeak if a tensioner is seized

yeah I don't hear any squeaks fortunately. but there's a lot of ticking going on and it worries me. also my exhaust seemed to get louder tonight? maybe it's just me. i put seafoam in earlier to help the lifters but i know that wouldn't cause that. I've heard that more exhaust can be a symptom of a bad timing belt tensioner

Ive never heard of an exhaust becoming louder with a bad tb. But where did you add the seafoam too?

oil gas and vac lines?

running it in the oil for miles can cause internal damage.

I added it to the oil. 1.5 ounces per quart of oil just like it says. I only plan on running it for about 100 miles then I'm changing the oil and filter.

160,000 miles. A friend had the car before me and the guy he got it from has had around 20 A4's apparently. So I'm sure he changed it. But, $200 for the ultimate kit from ECS is a damn good deal.

Doesn't matter how many A4s he's had, if you don't have proof that it's done, do it. Remember, he couldve had 20 because they kept blowing timing belts

So I got my Ultimate timing belt kit in the mail today, and I guess I wasn't paying attention when I ordered. Should I have got the kit that included the dampener as well as the roller? The ultimate kit only has the tensioner roller
