Default Tip tranny rebuild tools

Hi All,

I am contemplating a rebuild of my tip tranny sometime in the not too distant future. Does anyone know what "special" tools I might need for disassembly and the reassembly?

Thanks

******* right

oh and a new transmisison, its really not worth rebuilding autos. Its a huge pain in the *** and it it more than likely going to fail again. Any reason you havent found a used replacement?

I had pros rebuild the auto on my 96 A4. Took them 3 tries, and it was never right again.

Well, I guess this is a reasonable question. I could buy a used tranny, rebuilt tranny or rebuild my own. Seemed like rebuilding my own was the most cost effective solution as far as knowing where I stood after it was done.

If it's the PITA that has been suggested, I'll look into a used replacement. I just hate not knowing the history of used major components.

Thanks
