I have a 98 A4 1.8t fwd and the tranny is shot in it. I am having a hard time find a transmission for it around my area. I can find quattro trannies all day long. I was wondering if I could use a quattro tranny and take the tailshaft off and put the back part of my fwd tranny on it. I have searched and the only thing I could find is converting to rwd. I love the car and it was super cheap (I only payed $600 for the car) I don't wanna spend 1000 for a fwd tranny to get it shipped to me. Thanks for any answers I get

 

its going to be way more expensive to modify a quattro trans to fit, then just finding the correct fwd trans.
