Default HELP - TRANNY Question

Ok so here is the back ground story.

My 00 has never had any issues, been a dream since the day i bought it 2 years ago. Last week I hit a rock chuck (big *** ground hog). I had just had the front end repainted after winter time so I freaked. Luckily it just popped the grill out and no scratches.

Ok here is where I got weirded out. Ever since that happend, (Maybe that is in no relation to the issue) the car shifts hard into drive. Not everytime but mosts. Also there is indeed a CEL lit up and the car is set to go into get that checked this week. The car also seems to mis at about 6k rpm but once again not every time. This all had me kinda baffled so i started reading up on the b5 trannies, so far i havent learned to much other then they are crazy sophisticated. Can anyone shed some light on my issue? Also does anyone know where to check the tranny fluid on this beast?

Thanks in advance.

Elaborate..sure. When I shift the car into drive it kinda clunks (locks into gear hard) i dont know of any other way to describe it. Kinda jolting.

Thoughts?

Cooler pipes sounds logical, I'm guessing it happens in every gear?

Doesn't happen in every gear, oddly enough it doesnt happen every time i put it into drive either.

Ok i checked last night and couldnt find any kinked cooling lines but i did find what looks like a temp sending unit unpluged. It looked like its bracket broke loose at impact and came unplugged. Does anyone have a diagram showing the front end of the tranny cooling system? could something this minor be the issue?

Update, Ok after doing more research the plug that was loose was a temperature sensor. The sensor i believe is responsible for sending signal to the ecu to kick on the tranny coolant cooling fan. The hardest part was getting this little thing back into what i think is its home. The CEL is still lite up but the car is headed into AUDI wednesday so we'll see.

Does anyone have a diagram for the front cooling setup that might show this temp. sensor?
