Have you ever done brake stands? Do you drive with 2 feet? Ride the brake when cruising? A brake light switch fault from the tcu would suggest that the brakes are activating when the tranny thinks they shouldnt. Like when you are on the gas. If not, just replace it. If thats not it, you have much more involved diagnosing to do.

I have the same problem in my stock 2.8 Q. I think mine is because my trannie is shot, but hopefully thats not the case for you! But it sounds like the exact same problem.

Same problems/ symptoms with my tranny. Onepointbee we been through this several times with my car. I can reset my damn TCU all day via vagcomm and tranny will act flawlessly only adapting back to this behavior when that stupid brake light switch code comes on. I have replaced this switch TWICE already with no results; brake lights work absolutely fine, error code is still active. Sineo stated before that this is a typical error code with these transmissions. Unfortunately this code works in hand with the torque converter which becomes disabled; thinks the brakes are being applied like onepointbee already stated. I have not found any help relating to this issue.
