transmission messed up..

Jc, I had the same problem when I got vag com, i had to change the com port. My lap top was listening on com port 2, (which i don't even have connected) but vag com was talking on port 1. Double check that and see if it helps.

Could be something simple like your engine mounts...check for purplish hydraulic fluid under them.

lol mine uses com4... i got it working...

i have a 96 2.8 AT and i just started having the same problems i got a check engine light. and all the letters and numbers on the dash are all red like if they are selected. the check engine light also came on, i plugged in my scanner and it told me its a sporadic imput shaft speed, any suggestions. Im gona lift the car tonight and check the oil level first to see if its low.

it might just be a bad TCU. pm ImaDevil(fka upstatenya4) i remember him having a spare one or something in that sense. also the tcu should be under your passenger side carpet.

but if the tcu was bad would it make my car be all weird like.. hit 4k rpm normally then bog down to 3.7 then shoot up and throw be back into the seat

well if you're slipping all the way up to 4k and then suddenly the tranny fully engages i guess that could happen. if you take a good look under your car, you'll be able to tell where it is. just remember that there's a snub mount that goes from engine to rad support so don't mistaken that as the mount. if you google audi engine mounts, you'll be able to find what it looks like or any of the part shops online will have a pic. it sux that your car is having this many problems after the ST chip. i guess it can be a good thing cuz now you can upgrade lol. also, pm auditech79, he'll be able to help you out a lot more

yea... i think after i fix everything im going to message that guy and take that even trade on a stg2 98tqm

so becides motor mounts... which i havnt checked btw (19 degrees out) what could be the problem
