Transmission? Problem
Hi, I have a 2001 1.8T Quattro with a manual transmission. Whenever I start the car after it has been sitting for a few hours, there is a weird whining noise that lasts for around 15-30 seconds. The noise sounds a bit like a belt would if it was going out but the noise seems to be coming from around where the transmission is (underneath around where the driver sits) instead of anywhere under the hood. In fact, it is hard to actually hear the noise at all when I lifted the hood to see if it was a belt or the alternator or something like that.
Other than the noise, I haven't noticed anything wrong with the car though. It still shifts fine and doesn't slip any. I think that the linkage might be loose inside the transmission since it clicks a bit louder than it used to when I shift gears, but I wasn't sure if the two things were related at all.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I found this DIY for the fluid but didn't see anything about a filter in there. Do you know of any links on how to change it?
Thanks for the help.
