Trick to unbolt brake line!?
Hey everyone,
So I have finished my 4 control arms, I did the CV boot, everything is back in place now I just need to change my brake lines...
I took off the calliper and I managed to undo the bolt on the calliper end, so I attached my new stainless steel brake line to the calliper.
Now I CANNOT undo the other end of my rubber brake line...
I initially tried with a regular 11mm wrench but it started slipping... I moved to a flare nut wrench but it also slipped... Now the nut is stripped so I have been going at it with vice grips but the thing will not budge... I have used PB Blaster on it and everything.
Is there some sort of trick that mechanics know and I do not on how to undo these bolts? I'm at the point where I am considering replacing the entire metal brake line right to the block. (front left so its not very long).
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks

Anyone have any tips?
If not, is it hard to replace the metal part of the line? I just buy the line at a local car store and bend it into the shape I need?
Thanks

you hold one end with a wrench and turn the other end with another. if you can't get it to budge, you need to either replace the whole line or cut the line close to the fitting, put a new attachment on there and flare the line.
A flare tool... You can loan them at Autozone/Advance/etc. Not sure what type our cars want... Single, double, bubble, etc.
Make sure to cut the line absolutely as close to the end as you can if you really decide to go that way. You might need to modify the bracket slightly (probably just bending it up a little) to compensate.
If you've never used a flare tool before, it might be hard to get it just right... I still often mess it up and have to keep trying. (I don't do it very often.) I think there are more expensive tools that probably make it easier.
