Default Turbo Question

I am getting ready to purchase a new turbo. I have an 99 a4 with an engine code of AEB. The part # for my stock turbo is 058-145-703L. Does anyone know if a turbo off a 2003 a4 part # 058-145 703J will fit by just bolting on? Also, if anyone has any suggustions for where I can purchase a good used K03 or K04 for my car I would appreciate it.

I believe that the turbo you speak of will bolt right on... it should just be a KO3s... and I would check the classified ads on the forums, or check some other forums such as vwvortex.com or audizine.com

Yes, they are interchangeable. The 01+ ko3 has a more efficent compressor wheel

Default RE: Turbo Question

I know you said the 01+ k03 is interchangable. Would there be any problem bolting on a k03 turbo from a 2004 A4 1.8t with a totally different engine code. Thepart # is also 058-145-703Jand when I looked on Gpopshop they indicate the J superceeded the other letters, but alot of other turbo dealers selling the 058-145-703J did not list engine AEB as compadable. I just want to make sure it is going to fit properlybeforeI purchase it. Thanks.
