Default Turbo upgrade help!!!

I currently own a 1999.5 audi a4 1.8t quattro. I have it chipped with intake, FMIC, 2.5" stainless steel exhaust. I wanna upgrade to the k04-001 turbo, along with the bigger TT injectors. What im wondering is do i need to worry about reinforcing tranny bearings for that torque although not a lot, and higher stage clutch or whatever. Pretty much all i wanna know is if i upgrade to that turbo, do an ecu reprogram and bigger injectors, what risks am i looking at having eveyrthing else stock? Or can the tranny and all that hold that power of 240 or 250hp and that torque...thanx

btw you want a k04-015, the -001 is not a direct bolt on i dont think.

Manual or tip/automatic trans?

I still run a stock manual transmission at 800+chp and the tip has no problem that 240-250hp. I know guys running slightly upgraded TIP transmissions with GT30's and someone was running a GT35r but the trans didn't hold up.

i got manual transmission....i jus plan on doing the k04 swap with bigger injectors and ecu program....theres 5 programs and the most agressive program runs 28 psi while the second most agressive runs 22..im assuming the 28 psi one with all these mods and what i got should give me 275 while the 22 psi will keep me at 240-250hp....all i wanna know is if that much power and torque is too heave for the tranny and clutch or is it fine...

so ya from what ive read theres really no big risks just clutch....engine can handle lot of hp and tranny especialy on standard can handle over 300hp so i guess only clutch is a problem for the upgrade.....thanx guys appreciate it

the -015 is a direct bolt on for longitudinal 1.8t's like the A4 and the passat.

the -001 is used on transverse 1.8t's like the TT and the VW golf, and i think the later model A4's with the 2.0L engines.

Other way around. The K04-15 is for the longitude and the 01 is for the transverse. I think your mixing it up because VW also has a longitude in the Passat and Audi has a Transverse in the TT.

Only K04 program to run 28psi is the GIAC j31 and that is for the 2000 ATW not the AEB which is what you have. You will not see 275chp from a K04 at all, the most you will see is about 250 which is around 200whp. The GIAC chip for your AEB would be the PC16, but it doesn't make nearly as much power or run as much boost as the J31. Believe me people have been running these setups and no one has even come close to 275hp with a K04-15.
