Well if you got $2500 to spend I suggest not doing anything at all or going for a K04. Anything else will be half-assed and you might run the chances of something failing and will cost you more in the long run. For a good BT set up you'll need:

-Exhaust
-Downpipe
-DV
-FMIC
-Upgraded Brakes
-Suspension (coilovers are best bet but springs and shocks'll do)
-Turbo
-Custome tune
-air filter

For the money the GT28rs or elim. will be the best but will still be well over $5k. BT upgrades cost a lot of moolah and to run a reliable DD you can't cheap out. Just wise advise my friend. If anything do all the supporting mods first and then as $$$ comes in get the BT AFTER you've got all the essentials. GL!

^^^ he said it all.. you could probably do a GTRS setup for about $5k with intercooler and exhaust

i wouldnt spend the money for the k04 because you will still need a clutch and FMIC so might as well pay the few extra bucks and get the GTRS

many people have had trouble with the gt28r, its not much more power than a k04 but it has a vicious torque spike which is pretty hard on the engine...

^^^ Yes! Clutch! I knew I forgot something.

I thought the K04 had a harder tq spike? Either way that will smoke heads in a jiffy.

Yes you can put a FMIC on the stock turbo. You can get an IC from ebay. Choose the size and then just custom brace it and custom pipes attaching to your hoses. All for $150. Or go RaceTec or ER (Evolution Racing) for a more hardcore IC kit. At least $950. Competition kits are $1150 or more. DV you can get a Bosch 710N but you might blow it like mine. Get an APR R1 or the Forge 007. Buy nice or buy twice. Clutch go Southbend. Downpipe go with either Apikol or Racetec. Brakes get Stoptech or x-drilled 'n slotted from Adam in AZ. But all of the above depends on your turbo. Don't put a GT3076r and expect to run fine with a $150 ebay IC. Balance your mods accordingly. Besides you can't go bigger than a GT3071r running a conservative tune w/o working out your internals. Anything bigger you'll have to stroke that sh*t or at least new rods. But that's for more than 350whp which I doubt you're aiming for that. I've been poking around DTH and they got good stuff. I'm not sure where else these guys have been buying their kits.

Racetec is out of stock on B6 kits right now. For the month of July I am offering 5% rebate back off our already low price on the ER Sport FMICKit.
