I've never driven with 6000k so I'm not sure how they compare. They'll just be whiter and possibly offer a bit more light.

Oh I know, I've just never experienced what it's like with them behind the wheel ya know? I don't think I'd ever go higher than 5000k though...

It is a misconception that higher temp offers more light. Temperatures around 4100K are the closest to noon sunlight and output the most visible light (aka lumens).

Edit:
I'm not saying higher temps are no good, I'm just saying that the temp really only is a good indicator of color like you said.

I've always heard higher temps offer less light... Never heard anyone say it offers more. I've driven behind a truck with what looked to be 8000k and his headlights were about half as useful as mine. Lol. He didn't have projectors so I'm sure that didn't help either.

Finally did my belts last night and replaced my tensioner! Let's talk about a PITA! so much of a pain! Firstly couldn't get the new serpentine belt on and then I remembered that you have to undo the A/C belt tensioner! And then I couldn't get the new tensioner to line up and then the bolts weren't going in but eventually got them in and then I couldn't get the A/C belt to be tight because the tensioner wasn't being pushed down so had to have someone hold it while I tighten it! Overall a wreck of a time but I had fun doing it!

You spoke too soon. Last night couldn't get it to start so after letting it sit for 2 hours i went back to start it again just this time pumping the hell out of the gas pedal and it started but idling around 400 rpm so i revved it up to ~1500 and then let it even out around 1000, after driving around the block pulled into the driveway and got out to look at it...i noticed quite a bit of white smoke out of the muffler, but there was no milky residue in the coolant, the coolant wasn't bubbling and there was no signs of a normal blown head gasket... any ideas on that would be very helpful.

On a side note i came up with the decision to sell my car. its come down to it BUT i found another b5 a4! take a look
