How about not ******* with the car and leave it stock? that is why most of you fellas, have all these problems, you tweak the car to a none stock spec and expect it to run the way it was meant to run.

Well for starters, I think most of the guys (including myself) were referring to maintenance costs. Personally I've had to replace all but two control arms, a large portion of the wiring harness in the engine bay, timing belt, tensioner, pulleys, cam seals, crank seals, front brakes/rotors, rear brakes/rotors, a myriad of relays and sensors, some $50 exhaust clamps, and about $25 worth of light bulbs. None of that has anything to do with "******* with the car" so much as just keeping it running, safe, and legal.

I don't think Mikekey has done any engine/performance mods so far. Just visual aspects. So he's just getting bad luck.

Fair enough but i was referring to the users that install ko4 kits and such, not those who are purely trying to maintain their B5

That's why most of the people with modded B5 don't really b*tch about the money they spend. They all know it's coming.

I'm thinking of trading in for a 08.

And yeah, all I did was buy rims, exhaust and HID's didn't get very far before she started breaking.

I have to adjust my clutch, shop didn't do it, and now the damn thing engages about an inch from the floor.

I feel you man. Over the course of the last year I've had my steering rack, MAF sensor, rear differential seals, front end control arms/ tie rods, Airbag control module, and the rear passenger window regulator replaced on top of buying new rims, coilovers, headlights, and a grill. That is just for the past year. There are other repairs I've had to do in the last 4 years of owning this car. I'm not going to say how much I've spent because the guys on here gave me a ton of sh*t last time I mentioned it. And now the pump for my window washer fluid just crapped out on me. I could have easily had an S4 for how much I've spent maintaining this car, but live and learn I guess.
