is it safe to use permatex or a similar product to replace valve cover gaskets? doing timing belt tomorrow and figured i would do them in the process...dont think they have ever been changed and dont want to wait to have new gaskets shipped. thanks

 

the stock VCGs are pretty thick. i'm sure permatex gasket maker is fine.
