Default Valve Stem Change. Need some help.

Okay I got a broke valve stem and a bent one as of now. All the pistons on the driver side show some damage from the valve stems. Should I replace all the valve stems on this side and leave the ones on the passenger side alone since they look fine? The pistons are not cracked but the tops of them are damaged from the valve stems should I smooth the surface of the pistons?

The reason this all happened is because my timing belt tensioner broke. When it broke it sheared the screw off and damaged by crankshaft casing. I don't think I will have a problem getting the screw out but since the casing got damaged where the tensioner sits should I be concerned about it?

Any input would be great.

Thanks.

Valve stems are in your tires. Valves are in your heads. Sorry to hear about your car, the same happened to mine.

If you can be certain that some are ok, leave them, but I'd probably do them all just to be safe. You should smooth the pistons if possible - ridges can become hotspots that lead to detonation. As to the face where the tensioner mounted, smooth and clean it so the new one spins freely.

for the price of internals and the amount of work, it'd be cheaper just to get another motor

i think i am going to just do the ones that are damaged and i got lucky that only the driver side went out of timing the passenger side is in great shape. i know for sure that i will have to replace two valves but at the worst maybe 5 so i am just going to rebuild this head and hope for the best.
