Default VDO display help needed

Hi all
my B5 vdo display does not work. I got the car with it not working. I have just taken the cluster out and noticed that the VDO is not actually connected anymore. Is this a common issue and is it just a case of getting it resoldered or do i need a whole new vdo display.
i do get 3 lines on the vdo but nothing else.

I have taken a pic and will upload it

I would resolder it to the pcb first, could be just the ribbon, and the display could be fine.

yeah cheers, i am going to take it to an electrical shop and see if they can reattach it, as it looks stuck on rather than soldered and I cannot find a similar VDO on ebay etc

Super common for the display to go out and need to have a new one soldered in, not sure Ive one come off though.

If it's all the same, now would be a good time to just purchase a new display (on ebay?) and have them solder that one in, instead of the old one.
