Save yourself a lot of money by using ecstuning.com and blauparts.com and doing a lot of wrenching yourself. I haven't tackled a job yet that I wish I had just paid to have done, and I recently did my TB and CA's. Those were pretty big jobs for me, a weekend warrior car guy, but I managed and save myself several hundred bucks overall, so very worth the trouble.
Thats what i do man
i only have one mech that i trust and even he turned his back on me, but i do everything and anything that needs to be done in all the cars i've had, this is just the first time that im getting info in the forums.
My girl has a Nissan Altima and i also do everything on that POS, never liked the car, but she loves it
What can u do right?
But on mine the biggest job i've tackled so far was the headliner!!
It has to be done again, but I wont be doing that again... i think i'll stick with the mechanics

The forums are a great way to find out info on something you might run into. A lot of things that go wrong with these cars someone else has experienced and can help you out!
Side note- the "leo" in reference to your name? or leo =

However, it seems like VW has a tendency to overcomplicate things. Have you seen how many linkages there are in our front suspension? Also, what's with all of this 12-point star socket nonsense?
A good example of overengineering is the latch mechanism on in the jack access panel in the trunk. They could have just gone with a simple rotating tab dial lock... instead they designed the most complex latch I've ever seen.
Crazy germans..
Set it on fire...

Just sayin!
