Forgot to add, I've read on the net that there's a reset widget available that clears the 65535 error. Anyone know if that really works, where to get one ...

Ive never heard of any device resetting that code, it has to be reflashed.. The problem with reflashes is there was often a hardware problem that created the software problem and the code is back soon.

Sorry I meant re-flashed.
Here's an example of a unit that claims to fix dead airbag controllers from ebay.
Do they work?

Not often, Ive heard of many people getting them back with the same code, or the code reappearing shortly after. Its because like the software issue is because of a hardware issue. If it were me, I would just check the classifieds on forums, or talk to A&P Audi Specialties and see if they have one.

I had my airbag control module replaced when this code popped up. I would rather be safe than sorry. It would be a bummer to get in a bad crash and not have your airbags fire.
