Airbag Control Module - 2001 A6Q 4.2
Hi all,
My local shop diagnosed a faulty Airbag Control Module. So, I found the identical replacement part at Shokan, and had it shipped. I am wondering, is there any reason I should have the shop install it? (other then safety concerns i guess)
Its right behind the ashtray, and easily reachable. And it would take me all of 10 minutes...
1. Is it necessary to use vag-com or something to tell my car about the new module?
2. OR, is it simply "plug-n-play"
Thanks in advance!

[align=left]If you can do it yourself then do it. I did mine but I had to disassemble the entire center console (I think you might have to do the same). You do need VAG-COM to reset the module after you install it, or take it to the dealer for programming.
