You're right, pretty much nothing in his post makes sense. Especially the part about widening the wastegate hole.

The amount of boost/or vac in the intake manifold makes the FRP control the amount of fuel being injected, not the other way around. And no it doesn't matter what line you hook your boost gauge to as long as it's pre engine and post TB, they are all hooked to the same amount of boost (unless you have a REALLY big problem)

Well i have that obnoxious rattle but it is when i am on the throttle hitting steady boost. If you are really achieving no boost then the car would feel insanely sluggish. In order to really gauge anything you really need to install a boost gauge. I know it is a little pricey but ut will allow you to assess the actions of your car both real time and at steady max.

Yeah thats about a third of the stock pressure, even though it doesnt really sound like it i would run a pressure test (there are runthroughs in the DIY section) first because it can cause a number of wierd things and its cheep. If not i would unplug the MAF so it runs off default mapping. if it still runs sh!tty then there is probly a hardware issue st the turbo.

I thought my wastegate was rattling for a while but my car just fully cr@pped out and its looking like t was knocking (similar sound) and it ran super lean for like 10 sec under full boost and melted a plug...

Not too positive if this is the same thing, but at low RPM's I can hear my car rattle too. I was in a Wendy's drive through today and at about... 1200 - 1400 RPM my car rattles then goes away... but it doesn't happen all the time. So far this is the first time i've caught it happening, so i parked and popped the hood to check it out and had my buddy give it a little gas. I'm not a genius but I know quite a bit about cars and ive read just about everything there is to read about the A4's. First thing i thought was ... oh mannn it's my turbo alreadyy.

If you think its the same thing, i'm tearing my front end off tomorrow to do the belts and water pump so i'll just tighten up that adjuster and hope it takes care of it.
