Default Weird alarm question?

So, when I got my car a year and a half ago I noticed that if I set the alarm and my window is down the hazard light flashes then goes off and sets the motion sensor. If you stick your hand in the window after the light stops blinking the alarm goes off.

Today I looked in my rear window after I locked it and the hazard light was flashing and all windows are up. Wondering if this is normal and I didn't notice it before. Or, is a window cracked open or does it mean the alarm was previously going off?

I cant really understand your first paragraph. But when the alarm goes off the parking lights flash and the alarm horn honks, shortly after the horn will stop and only the parking lights are flashed.

Oh yeah thats right earlier models use that as an alarm warning light. Im not sure on that then, mine is a 99, when my motion sensors are turned on the LEDs will blink fast at first and then continuously blink after that. If they are turned of the LEDs blink quickly briefly at first, then shut off, then continuously blink slowly after that. Maybe someone with a 97 will be better help someone should chime in eventually.

Thanks...that makes sense cuz the hazzard button blinks in the same way your light flashes. I thought the motion sensors only activated with the window or sun roof open? Maybe one of the window sensors is bad? I have never turned the alarm on or off. Didn't even know I could. Does the factory install a kill switch?

No the motion sensors are always on unless u press the interior motion sensor defeat button (located on driver side pillar right by seatbelt). The motion sensors set off false alarms if the windows are open from the wind. When you press the button the motion sensors are turned off but not the rest of the alarm.

it's on by default. if you turn your car off, then hit the button, the warning light should light up for about a second then turn off, then you lock your doors. you should be armed with no motion sensors. the next time you lock/unlock your car, it defaults back to sensors on. at least that's how mine works (pretty sure).

like 'never enough' said its on by default, to turn it off [motion sensors]: with drivers door open you push the button. shut the door and lock it.....
