well balls... clutch?
well i just did a launch, and right afterwards the tranny locked up and wouldnt let me shift. i forced it into gear to go right back down to my house, and as i was going up my driveway and it was whining, then it stopped moving. i can now put it into gear without using the pedal at all. clutch, slave/master cylinder, tranny? it has a spec clutch currently, which i am aware sucks. will i be able to keep my aluminum flywheel if i get a southbend?

Sounds like your clutch went.
If you launch the car often stick with a 6 puck, if you do it once in a while you could get away with a Kevlar disk setup if you go with a 240mm setup like the CM kit.
Yes you can use your aluminum flywheel with a south bend or CM clutch if it is a spec flywheel, that flywheel is cut to be just like the OEM flywheel. You might need to replace the friction plate on the flywheel.

that damn clutch always used to chirp when i would let it out slow at higher rpms and it didnt catch till it was the whole way out. also, when i push the pedal the whole way to the floor and hit the gas, a sound comes from the transmission that sounds like a deck of cars being shuffled. i just dont see how it went out in a bang, or why i couldnt shift into gear

The noise you most likely hear when you have it pushed all the way in is the fingers bottomed out on the disk. Seen and heard of a few people with a Spec clutch having that same issue, I had that problem with a Spec 240mm kit on a customers B6. It was the first Spec clutch I sold and also the last.
well after 2 hours last night and 3 tonight, my tranny is finally laying on my garage floor. turns out that the pressure plate and flywheel look brand new, but the disc completely broke in 2. do you guys think i should just get a good disc and keep the clutch pressure plate (its a stage 4) or get a whole new kit?
Throwing in just a new disk wont last very long, its like throwing on new pads on old rotors. The flywheel and pressure plate need to be resurfaced before putting a new disk in.
You could call up Spec and tell them their disk broke, but good luck with them actually doing anything about it.
