Default well, still a thermostat problem!!!! grrrr

Well, took out the whole front end, drive belt, timing belt and STILL can't get to it. Audi has really pissed me off, I'm ready to blow up my car now. I really need some help. Or someone who'd buy it so I can get a VW.

Take a break because you sound very fustrated. When you pull, try to twist and pull at the same time. THe thermostat is stuck there because the hot coolant melted the ring which made a seal for the thermostat.

Well see, I looked at the book, and the damn picture isn't even the same as my car. Right book too, but It is still a damn pain in the *** to get too. I am ready to just pay $559 just to get the damn car fixed.

Well if the picture isn't the same as your car then the year in the book must be different.

or he has the shitty American manual(not haynes but the other brand) wich includes all engine codes and VWs, i bought it just for reference purposes and, like the pulley tensioner for example, shows 4 different style none of which are the style u purchase nowadays.

unless you have a bently manual, maybe, its really only good for reference not full detail. the thermostat wasn't my problem, for us it was the water pump, on my ATW. PITA.

So if I wanna get to my thermostat, do I have to take out my water pump? I looked on YouTube and found this,http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3JKy5...e_gdata_player

Its the right engine and all, but it looks like way to much work for an ameteur (spelling) mechanic. Just for a thermostat, I can't post pics cause I'm on my mobile. ):

Best quote from video "If you don't change the thermostat you fail at life!"
