hello to all, recently i got my first audi in a trade, 99 a4 2.8 30v. the exhaust is loud, the previous owner did some hacking on the stock exhaust. am i missing just a pipe or a resonator here?!

 

You are missing the rear muffler for sure. The resonator is there but its pretty rusted up.

If I were you... I'd just slap a cat-back exhaust on her for now.

 

i really want it to be not so loud . like to have just a complete stock exhaust. but its kind of hard to find stock exhaust. thanks for the fast response too

 

You can also take it to any exhaust shop and have them look at it, and come up with a stock piping solution for you. Very cheap too. When I had my exhaust done it was $235 for 2.5" piping from the cat-back.

That's the one, but you'd probably be better off getting a universal aftermarket one since I imagine the OEM one wouldn't be cheap. Plus the OEM catback is all one piece, so I'm not sure you'd be able to find just the rear muffler by itself.

 

Dude if you would have made this post a few weeks earlier I would give you the resonator and muffler for free. I had them in the garage after I cut them out of my car at 80k. They were in great condition, no significant corrosion.

Long story short my father threw them out, took em to the scrap yard.

 

damn ha close but not close enough, the one on the picture is about 200 i think, but i think im just gonna take it to the muffler shop and see what they can do, i was getting ready to head to work yesterday and the mid section of my exhaust was laying on the concrete below my audi ha this is going to well but im gonna stick with it and try to make this audi as nice as i can, thanks again everyone

 

alright the one pictured is the oem bosal brand i can get it for 135 delivered. that seems somewhat cheap but im still new to Audi, so what do you guys think? i fixed the rest of the exhaust now im just missin this piece
