What is the black square mounted on the coil bolt?

What is the black square mounted on the coil bolt?

I was swapping out the coil and broke off the black square dohicky from the mounting bracket. What is this thing and do i need it as the car runs fine with no codes or any issues?

It's an RF suppressor, you might get interference through the radio now. I broke mine off too but I replaced it with one from a random broken distributor I had lying around.
