what cone filter should i get

Default what cone filter should i get

i finally took back the k&n filter thanks god( i never liked it, wierd shape and way to long to fit in the car without jamming it in.
ive heard good thing about aem
anybody got the holy grail of air filters?

have you read the stickies? the stock air box is the best besides the highend cabino that you pay $300 for the best and cheapest way is a drop in k&n other than that a cone filter is just for sound and look

yes i have read the stickies im not a jack ***
i dont want to do the air box mod cause id rather not chop up my airbox in case i ever wanted to put it back, i was just curious as to wat filter others were running

Also wouldn't want to modify the airbox 'cuz we need it for emissions... cone filter definitely won't pass the visual inspection (in CA). I'm curious about this too, as it would be nice to run a [dry] cone filter with heat shield until it's time for a smog check.

AEM, HKS, K&N or a Blitz are some good filters. You just need to find one with the right size inlet and that is short enough to fit in the space you have.


If you are mounting it right to the maf DO NOT get a filter that has a inverted cone because it will cause a dead spot right in front of the maf sensor and give you incorrect maf readings.

don't mean to hijack. I was thinking about putting a cone filter in my 2.8L. Found a used K&N for a 1.8L. I think it will fit but if I am wrong let me know.
