It's coolant. Lower radiator hose cracked in half at the fitting where it connects to the radiator about 5 blocks from my house. Luckily a VW dealer about 30 minutes from my house has one in stock, but they were closing in 5 minutes by the time I called them so I'll have to wait until tomorrow.

Yeah I was wicked pissed at first, even when I posted this picture, but I keep telling myself that it could have been worse. When the heat went cold and the car started to over heat I immediately thought heater core, which would have been a total clusterfuck

I'd still be pissed. That's a lot of money in just coolant, let alone the radiator hose.

Headlights can be expensive too! Did the force of the leaking coolant expel them from your car?

Actually its funny, I already had a gallon of coolant and a gallon of distilled water in the back of the car because I'm paranoid parrot, and I'm leaving in a few minutes to get the hose from a VW dealer about 20 minutes away in MD so its only gonna cost me about $100 plus gas to get up there.

lol no, I took them off because I thought I would need the service position to get the lower rad hose on and off, but now I'm thinking I might be able to pull it off without all that. I wish I didn't have mangled **** hooks for hands
