Default What Else?

I know I know for all of you that will say it 2.8, not too much can be done. But I want to do more. So far I have replaced:
  • Timing belt
  • Serpentine belt
  • Water pump
  • Valve and cam seals
  • New spark plugs and wires
  • Short air intake (want to go cold)
  • New ABS
  • Not much of a mod but new battery
  • DDM HID low beams
  • Re-welded the exhaust (had some small cracks in it)
  • New flex pipe
  • New brake pads and OEM rotors put on (place I bought it from put rotors on right before I got it)
  • New tires
  • And last but not least coilovers
What else can I do? Its a 2000 A4 2.8 Quattro with 115K. Any small things for appearance? Performance? Thanks for your input.

You can chip the 30v. Also if you're automatic, a tip chip is an excellent bang-for-buck mod with no down sides.

I have to disagree about the tip chip. All it does is shorten the lag between when you indicate that you want the trans to shift and when it actually gets around to doing it. It does not actually make the transmission shift faster. Still a slosh box.

Not many people are interested in spending nearly what their car is worth for a G2 supercharger. But it would be badass.

If I had a 2.8 I'd be doing suspension, big brakes, wheels, and exhaust.. Thats about it aside from a few other small things.

I agree with you 100%. I never said anything about shifting faster, just that for the price (i've seen tip chips for under $200), its a pretty good mod without a negative side like ECU chips and the like can sometimes have. From what I've read, guys who run them are very happy with the results. Know what I mean?

Yeah I don't think it's worth $5, but thats just me

Most of the reviews I've read are from people who let themselves believe the false claims that are in the tip chip product description from AWE.

All you have to do is anticipate the 1 second lag it takes for the trans to understand that you want the m-fer to shift already

lol I wouldn't buy one either, but thats because I wouldn't buy an auto

good point about the reviews though, people will rave about anything they've convinced themselves is sweet
