what engine?

Default what engine?

hi got a question about my engine,just bought my a4 1997 A4 Turbo quattro.and the guy i get it from said he had changed engine.so i was wondering about what type my new are?he said the same and what engine is this?all i can see is a aeb but is it 4cylinder and 10v?will take some pics out here.ty for any help.question is i wanna tune it some and need some tip about cheap moderate tuning

yes it is the 1.8t and first tune should be a chip i would also do the air box mod which is a good mod for very cheap(ull get better throttle response). Exhaust, test pipe, check your timing belt... Idk its really up to u but thats my $.02

all pre 1999.5 1.8ts have AEB engines. the only big differences are that they have push down coils, bigger heads and manifolds, and you have a drive by cable system. most people choose to tune AEBs for these reasons, and put facelift parts on it, or buy AEB head parts for their already facelift car.

Don't forget the forged bottom end The AEB is the best

ahh i learned something new, i wasnt aware of that. im definately going to be getting some AEB parts when i go BT here soon, and ill sell my polished ATW manifold

Corrected for you

Down side to the AEB is the Narrow Band 02 and the maf has a lower MAX reading.

really?i thought AEBs had push downs, and that you could but the brackets that make them bolt downs like 99.5+?

AEB and ATW are both bolt down. The AEB are 3 wire and the ATW is 4 wire.

The 2001+ are the round push in coils.
