Default What To Look For?

Since I intend on buy a B5 in the near future, is there anything that I should look into before buying? i.e; a common problem that these cars have, anything that should be replaced immediately upon buying the car, etc.

As long as it has been washed and vacuumed, you should be fine. No known issues.

But if you are having trouble sleeping, try the first sticky at the top of this forum.

Yeah.... NO

Timing belt, you need to know exactly when it has been done if they say they arn't sure or dont know plan on that being the 1st thing you do before you drive the car! Electrical issues can be a pita. If 1.8t (which it should be...) make sure the oil has been done regularly, the 1.8t's have known sludge issues that can kill these cars if you are not on top of them. Then other basic stuff like you would any other car. Also if the car is lowered at all check out the TRE ctrl. arms and ball joints, but those are a pretty easy fix.

Cool, thanks ^. And I also heard something about that when the turbo goes out that these cars are pretty much done. Any truth to this?

When your turbo goes out, you just need a new turbo...

That's what I get for listening to someone who didn't own an Audi. Fail.

When the turbo goes, it is time to get a big turbo with a tune and add a bunch of horsepower to your car.
