Default what are the odds

I went to get my wheel alignment yesterday and they told me my tie rods as well as my upper control arms, on top of that I need new bushings on my LCA's and need new boots on my cv's...... Ain't that some stuff..

Guess who is getting a whole new front end?

Considering tie rod ends and control arms are notorious failure items, I'd say the odds are pretty good.

It sucks but you could probably swap most of those yourself (and save a lot of dough). Think about how much better your car will feel though when it's all done - like brand-new

There is the kit you need... well for the control arms and whatnot anyways.

If you need a new CV boot I have one I will sell you... I waited to long to put it in and need a new joint now. P.m. me if your interested. I will give it to you cheap.

hey thanks for the link that just saved me another $50 I found the same kit on purems for $500. Yeah I agree though it does suck but when all is said and down my sterring ewill be so tight. As opposed to right now, it is the loosest sterring I have ever felt almost scary loose.

First look at this DIY http://www.audiworld.com/tech/wheel43.shtml

Second and even more importantly, The kit that is listed above is not the same kit that is being sold by Purems. The kit from performance cafe is from "euro spec" (or that's what they said when I asked what brand it was) a brand I have never heard of and would not trust. The purems kit is well worth the extra $50. Febi is considered by a lot of people to be the best kit available. Even Purems used to carry Meyle brand, but had so many failures they decided to switch vendors.

Third, go to your local audi dealer and have them verify that they TRE(tie rod ends) have been done under the recall. Mine had been done already so I had to replace them myself.

Make sure you have all the right tools, and soak the top bolt for a week in PB blaster. If you can get that bolt out without problems (sounds liek 50/50 odds) then do it yourself. If you can't get it out you would still be at a place you could put it all back together and take it in.
