What reads/measures the boost pressure

Its not a big deal, but I wanted to know how boost pressure is read, as I am looking to have the car chipped, and wondered how the boost would be increased. Cheers

They have the n75 bleed off more boost, add more fuel in boost all while changing the timing curve.

Anyone know why an aeb engine w/ maf plugged in (brand new maf) will cut the boost in half while having it unplugged will boost perfect.
