Default What is that sound???

Ok, so replaced auto transmission. Scanned with vag-com and only a MAF error on the engine controller. My issue is when I start it I hear a sound best described as when kids put a playing card by the spokes of their tires. Maybe a little more metallic but similar. It varies with RPM and load. I made sure the transmission is filled properly and it seems to be happy.

In my mind it sounds like something is rubbing on that pesky metal gasket that goes between the bellhousing and the motor. I pray this inst what a bad trans pump sound like. Help please

Good idea, but in park/neutral? I made sure the torque converter was seated, and when I mated the trans up I could still rotate the TC with a screwdriver so I am pretty sure its not a cracked flywheel. This is driving me bonkers. Bad trans pumps dont click like that do they?

pump shouldn't be clocking. and the engine is still vibrating at idle. Does the sound change with rpms in park and neutral as well? Any slippage or missing shifts?

Seems to speed up with rpm changes. Slight difference in gear vs park/neutral but may be load related not sure. Shifting is great.

Sounds like you might have a small exhaust leak at the turbo or header, try seafoaming it and see if smoke comes out anywhere but the tailpipe.
