What is an Upsolute Chip??
I recently purchased a, 01 1.8T that has some work done by the previous owner. Some of it like the Infinity sub and the Fatbox are kinda cheesey, but he says it has an Upsolute Chip. It's definitely chipped and the company claims 210hp/235tq. I have no reasons to doubt this, but is this a good chip? I was a Porsche tech for 4 years and worked on Audis and VWs in between, but I've never heard of anyone using Upsolute. It was installed by My Garage somewhere in CT. It's supposed to be a top-notch place, but they aren't listed as retailers for Upsolute. Is Upsolute a live-tune chip or is it a plug-n-play deal?
Should I be scared and go for another chip? Giac perhaps??
Thanks for any info. A search revealed a bunch of "Upsopoop" comments and it's starting to scare me.

Cincy is the only person I can find badmouthing Upsolute at all. Seems like they were very popular when chips were getting big on B5s, but now they are outdated and outperformed by other companies. Cincy seems to be looking down on them for their files made for aftermarket turboes.
Sounds like:
Your chip will not harm your car. If you buy another car, look into a different chip. If you want to go big turbo, get a different tuner. If you like your car like it is, leave it alone.

the upsopoop is an outdated and will get outperformed by all other chips. The BT programming is not good at all also. There have been many people that have blown motors with it on both stock and BT applications.
