Default What would this cost? - stealership

1996 2.8qtm

I made an appointment at the dealer for next Friday to check out my endless power steering problems, so I have a week to decide if its worth it haha.

I posted my problem with my ps pump on this thread:

https://www.audiforums.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=125616

but basically I'm feed up and don't have the time or patience to continue trouble shooting this f&%@ problem

SOOO, I'm wondering how much would I expect to pay for a replacement power steering pump, installed by the dealer? I know (at least at Audi of Rochester Hills) they charge 117 an hour for labor and the pump is relatively easy to get to.... i don't know let me know what you guys think, thanks.

It doesn't really matter if it takes that long, they'll just charge you by what the "book" says how long it will take. So if it takes them an hour, but the book says 2.5 hours, you get docked for 2.5 hrs.

and damn...117 an hour is a lot. My Audi dealer charges 98 an hour and my VW dealer charges 60 some an hour.

Hey now I just moved out of downtown rochester a year and a half ago. Please correct yourself it is full of rich fu*ks and college students that find a cheap *** rental.

I get coupons in my e-mail for 20% off labor on service at Fred Lavery on Woodward in BHam. I don't know what they charge for service rates, I just get them since I bought my A4 there. If you want one for there let me know I can forward you the e-mail.

I have replaced the pump with a new one, but i keep finding problems with air sucking in somehow. I have flushed the fluid and changed all the stock clamps to something better, I'm just at a dead end of time and want this whining sound fixed asap
