wheel bearing
i tryed doin my front right hub. THE PHUQING BOLT ON THE UPPER CONTROL ARM OMFG f*ck me . I spent f*cking hours on this peice of f*ckin **** and it still wouldnt come off. im f*cking up to my f*cking neck with this peice of **** of a bolt. IM done with it. i told my friend to do it cause it caused way too much anger and headache and stress for me and i flipped out. f*ck that bolt. im done with my car. its sitting in the driveway until my friend fixes it. i got bloody knuckles and everything. god. send it to a shop for the front. it aint worth the f*cking headache
That pinch bolt will come out......but only when it is good and ready. I used an acetylene torch and some penetrant over the course of several days. I had to make a heat deflector to keep from smoking the upper ball joint boots. I would heat the area untill the penetrant started to bubble and then I would quench the bolt and nut withmore penetrant. Let it cool down for a while and then repeat. I did this for about a week before changing out the front wheel bearings. If you read the instructions on a can of penetrant it will say "spray over joint area to be separated and wait a while to give the penetrant time to work" Kind of vage but in my experience the longer I wait the better the results. WhereI live the state road salt protocol is 50 lbs per lane per mile so any car repair starts with cleaning the work area with a wire brush and penetrant. Use as much anti sieze as you can when you reassemble, if you pull this repair off nothing can stop you and you will be back in there to do the ball joints shortly.
i didnt use a torth and tryed using this pitchfork type thing. now the f*cking ball joints are busted. never again will i attempt this.ever. now i wonder how much those costs, whatever the f*ck they are. now time to spend 200 on new upper control arms. /rant
yea and im not trying to scare you , just giving you exactly wut happened to me today, and the day before , and the day before that. Im not into trying to break bolts loose n **** wit torches n **** , too much stress man , its worth bringing to a shop, trust me. JUSt DONT GET RIPPED OFF.
