Default Wheel sensor removal

I am replacing the front left wheel bearing on my 98 A4. Need to remove the whole knuckle so I can take it to the local shop so they can press out my wheel bearing. Got the wheel sensor out of it's hole, but can't figure out how to thread it out though the Knuckle housing. It won't fit. Does the steel sensor cylinder fit through the housing hole? It doesn't seem to.
Anyone had this problem?
Thanks!

Don't bother. You actually couldve left it in place, seated in the spindle. It doesn't interfere with the pressing of the bearing.

Wait, I misunderstood you - that's what is keeping you from removing it from the car, right? Trace the cable back from the sensor to the car, unplug it from the car's harness, and then go to the shop. You can leave the sensor on the spindle.

Tracing it back through the wheel well, it seems impossible to access where the end of the sensor wire connects to the harness. Underneath the ABS module housing, through a small oval hole, can't get to it.

Pry out the rubber grommet where the wire runs into the car.
