Default wheel and tire question....

Hey Guys,

im soon to get new wheels/tires. i currently have the stock 16" "swing" wheel, with pirelli supersport 7000.

i have the 98 1.8t qtr, anyone know what the bolt pattern, offset, width etc i would be looking for? i looked thru the owners manual but to no avail.

if i were to temporarily keep my 16" swings, what tires would you suggest? thnx

Bolt pattern for our car is 5x112. Your stock offset is 45. Offset will change if you buy aftermarket wheels, they tend to be in the 35 to 40 range.

Never heard of those tires. I have a friend who likes his Dunlop 9000's. I am still on my stock 15" until this spring when I will be getting some 18" Axis Supermesh w/ Khumo Ecsta Supra tires.

Tires really are different depending on what size wheel you are putting them on. Sidewall construction and height determines what materials and manufacturing techniques can be used, etc...
Tirerack has a lot of info and reviews of all kinds of tires. I suggest you go there and do some research cuz it will pay off.

TireRack sucks for me cuz I live in Indianapolis and would have to pay taxes.... bastards! Tirerack is actually only 30 min drive from me.

Slim you just bought those Miglia's?? WOW! thats cheap! I have never seen those on an A4 before. Bet they would look cool. With a 44 offset you might want to use some small spacers to bring em out slightly.<edited><editID>brrman</editID><editDate>37958.4748726852</editDate></edited>
