Default Wheels and tires

Hello, people.

So my 5 year old khumo solus tires are bald. Had the fronts replaced with used bridgestone's off a mini a few months ago that are horrible even though they have some tread left on them. They are extremely noisy.

So whenever I shop for tires I always look to craigslist first for a deal on a wheel/tire combo.

Found these off an A6 for $480. They have all season yokohamas on them with 80% left and only a couple small scratches. I'll just sell my oem 16's, I guess. Not interested in having two sets of wheels and tires for summer/winter.

I'm trying to find a pic of a b5 a4 with these wheels. Think they'll look ok?

Holy **** man, glad to see you back around these parts. How's life?

I think those will look just fine. What Bridgestone's do you run on the front? I had HP550's on my old A4 and they were quite noisy as well. Just got 4 shiny new Goodyear Eagle GT's about 3 weeks ago and I'm really pleased with them.

Hey buddy. Life is good. The big deal for me recently is picking up a Honda CB1000R. Kind of makes you forget about forced induction! The weather is turning for that, though.. and the reason I'm going to need good tires.

Anyways - Bridgestone Turanza is what I have on the front right now. I got them for $20 each so I'm not upset, but they are horrible. After some research I found that I'm one of many people with excessive noise from them. It's definitely the reason the dude was selling them, I'm sure, because the tread is decent.

Hey man, welcome back. Never saw them on a B5 but they're a clean design that should work well with the looks of the car. I'd do it.

I love those wheels on the A6 so there's no reason they shouldn't work on the B5.

Well the remaining tread ended up being more like 40% on those A6 wheels so I passed.

I picked up some Futura all season tires for $200 mounted and balanced from a guy on craigslist. They are used with only a couple hundred miles on them. Futura is a Cooper off brand. Had Coopers before and liked them... This guy is retired, has his own shop, and has seemingly the best hookup for used tires. All of his stock looked brand new. Real cool dude. They are really quiet and are an obvious upgrade overall. It turns out the reason the Turanzas were so loud is because they are a run flat tire with less than 50% tread left. The difference is night and day. Do not buy Turanzas!

Glad to hear you got yourself set up! Never had run flats, are they all loud? If so, why?
