I'm looking to replace the lower door moldings on my 1997 audi a4 1.8tq. Mine have the infamous rust...still have all of them but only 2 are on the car. I found a good used set from a 1999.5 audi a4. The picture doesn't show the back side and I can't find any info about when they switched. But these are only $65.00 for the set + a couple bucks for new clips and screws. But it beats 200-300 for a new "kit" from germany.

I'm not sure they ever switched. These are from Germany, are only $174 at ECS, and the two I bought 3 years and 100,000 miles ago still look great. If you got some with plastic in them, I think they switched when you bought them from China via eBay.
