I really have been enjoying my new purchase (1999.5, 2.8L), but there are spots on the door trim on the driver's side that are really ugly. Best I can figure is that someone must have been hanging a cigarette out the window and melted the trim a bit.

Does anyone know where I can get this piece? I have been trolling partouts, but I'm not even sure what it would be called. Is it a piece of the a-pillar trim or separate? Take a look at the pics and let me know where to look.

 

It is separate from the a-pillar trim. This trim is connected around the door frame, and in my experience seems glued to the door frame. Haven't found out what to call it, or where it's available, though I haven't looked very hard. If I had to guess, I would call it "interior door trim" or something like that.

It's part of the door seal. You need the whole rubber seal that goes around the door opening. That fabric trim is part of it.
