Where do you think I should look for my #2 boost leak?
Hi guys,
As stated: I have at least one more boost leak somewhere.
I'm pushing 17psi to my stock turbo and it recently started the ol' "Boost loose whine".
I did a pressure test on it - after the intake box - at the intake hose and found the FPR hose loose (I guess it couldn't handle the pressure and started to balloon on each end).
I replaced the FPR hose and used clamps to prevent future issues.......but
Like an *******: I made an assumption. Once I fixed that, I didn't think to run another pressure test (yeah, I know) and I went ahead and put everything back together.
I took it for a test drive and as soon as I pulled out, you could hear it whining.
It would max out at 10psi before the FPR fix. Now it's holding until it his about 13psi, then tops out.
Does anyone have any experience with this, who cares to tell me where to look?
Any & all help is appreciate.
Thanks.

Why not hook the pressure tester back up? There are quite a few locations where you could have a boost leak... there are 4 separate rubber hoses between the turbocharger and intake manifold, each with 2 clamps. There is an intercooler with plastic endtanks that could leak. There is a brake booster check valve and associated lines, PCV valve, suction jet pump, diverter valve and its hoses, etc.

I was thinking about hooking it back up, but she was holding 20psi at the intake pipe, I had already checked the diverter valve (which is a new billet valve) and all of the check valves are new and seemed fine, so I thought I'd see how she drove after I tightened up all of the hose clamps I could find (some needed replacing).
I'm still getting boost whine (which I have to admit - I actually love the sound!), but she's now holding 13-16 psi, so I now know that the FPR hose was a major contributor.
One thing I haven't done, but I'm planning on, is checking the intercooler piping. I took it to my Audi guy and he gave me the idea, but you hit the nail on the head with that one! That's the only place I haven't checked.
Thank you for the idea, your time and your response.
I'll keep you updated.
