Default Where is my fan control module?

I have searched high and low and cannot find the fan control module. I was told that it may be on the driver's side frame rail behind the radiator. Nothing there. It's not under the battery tray.

I have replaced the thermostatic switch on the lower part of the radiator right above the lower hose. I have a nice new, non-squeaky, aux fan and the 40 amp fuse is good so I'm stuck with finding the FCM.

Any ideas? If anyone has a photo of what I'm looking for that would be extra nice.

2000 A4 Avant 1.8 turbo by the way.

Thanks,

Still having fan trouble, eh? I can take a picture for you, but it should be mounted on underside of the driver's frame. With the belly pan off, look up just a little bit forward of the power steering reservoir. Another way is to follow the fan wire to the FCM.

Also, if the one from a 2.8 is the same as the 1.8, I have a known good one.

I'll take a look the next time I get the belly pan off. I re-checked that 40 amp fuse and it was blown bigger than Dallas. Replaced it and the aux fan kicked in. It's all good now. Thanks for all the help and I will find that FCM for sure!
