Default Where'd all the boost go?

Just installed my boost gauge today and noticed that im only getting 1-2 psi with normal driving then about 5-8 psi when I floor it. From reading around it doesnt seem like this is normal im thinking maybe a boost leak i havent tested the lines yet and VAG-COM is still being shipped

if you have stock software, that is the correct amount.

Stock boost is tuned to 8psi unfortunately. I was also considering getting a boost gauge tho, where did you run yours through just curious? Ive heard a few different ways.

in my roommates 240sx with an sr20 we ran the boost gauge through the FPR... i dont know where its located on the 1.8 but that is a very good reading spot.. he reads 8 psi normal and about 12-13 WOT... and he just got a cheap-o gauge from autozone lol

yeah is there really any difference in the gauges besides digital vs mechanical? I hear the mechanical are a lot more reliable. I guess really the only difference is the fact that on the podi site you get the pod as well, which is really nice i must say lol.
