too bad you don't have a turbo vetc motor.... oh wait that is like the vvt motor that the awm's are........ all vtec is, is cariable valve timing right? and you throw a turbo on that..... double punch

VTEC (Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control) is a valvetrain system developed by Honda to improve the volumetric efficiency of a four-stroke internal combustion engine. This system uses two camshaft profiles and electronically selects between the profiles. This was the first system of its kind. i would like to see the race, sounds like fun. i think what most people fail to realize (not saying anyone here, just in general) that most european cars are not 'stop light to stop light' cars, they are heavy and slow but put them on the highway and they will cruise at 120+ all day long. try that in a honda

 

hoping that was a joke..... hoping. You know, since vvt on a vw/audi is just for start up emissions control and thats it.

 

The new SI models run slower 1/4 miles than we do. I had a bad clutch, ran a 15.6 and they run mid to high 15's i believe. Im sure it would be close, but for that speed range im pretty sure the audi will win hands down, due to the way our powerband is

my point is, most "adults" that drive civic si's do it cause they want reliability and some speed.... and know that audi's are far supirior in looks

and most would rather change cause they know the possibilities of the "power"

 

VTEC with aftermarket cams is juicy. Audi VVT is boring.

 

I thought some tuner was looking into making vvt for performance?

 

Unitronic is i believe working on it. One of there reps hinted at it. And feerock, turbo spikes are much more fun than vtec spikes.

 

+1, but the first time i drove a tuned honda it did suprise me a little. but the first time i drove a boosting car it was wayyy better.

 

There is a big differnce between a tq car and a hp car. Not to mention you can make a turbo car either with the right turbo.
