I'm not familiar with Maryland's inspection laws, but it should pass no problem. It doesn't interfere with safety or emissions.

It will pass just fine. In cars equipped with that center LCD screen, all the lights that are considered during inspection (air bag, brake, and CEL) are located in the open space on the tach/speedo.

Besides, you could just turn off the LCD screen and the guy doing the inspection would have no idea

the codes people always talk about are pulled from the ECU by an OBDII scanner, they don't just pop up on that screen.

There's another screen to the left of the center screen that displays the date and time, is that what you're talking about?

Yep thats the time/date you're talkin about. There's a little post right next to that window that sticks out the front of the gauge cluster. Pull on it to select HH:MM:SS, AM/PM, MM-DD-YYYY, respectively. Then turn the post clockwise until it clicks to increment the hour, counterclockwise to decrement the hour. Same goes for minutes, seconds, days, months, years. Finally, pull the post once more to turn the date display on or off.

FWIW, that won't have any effect on whether or not you pass inspection either
